Behold & Be Held

Live Wholly

Give Him the life He has already given you.

The more clearly we behold God, the more deeply we discover that we are held by Him. And something begins to change. Trust loosens our grip. Worship rearranges our loves. Mercy turns our eyes outward. Generosity becomes less an obligation and more an overflow.

We begin to ask not simply, What do I believe about God? but What might my life look like if I truly lived as though He is who He says He is?

That is the invitation to live wholly.

All of us

A Whole Life, Offered Back to God

God does not ask for one carefully partitioned corner of our lives. He invites all of us. Our worship and our work. Our time and our treasure. Our plans and our interruptions. Our relationships and our resources. Our ordinary Tuesdays and our defining moments.

To live wholly is not to live perfectly. It is to increasingly bring the whole of our lives beneath the loving lordship of Christ — allowing what we know of God to shape how we trust, how we love, how we steward, how we give, and how we move through the world.

The life that beholds Him begins to become a life offered to Him.

Truth travels

When Beholding Becomes Living

What we attend to shapes what we love. And what we love shapes who we are becoming. As we behold the holy, sovereign, wise, good, faithful God revealed in Scripture, truth begins to travel from what we affirm with our minds into the places where life is actually lived.

Fear meets His faithfulness. Control meets His sovereignty. Scarcity meets His provision. Self-reliance meets His sufficiency. Indifference meets His mercy.

And slowly, sometimes almost imperceptibly, the heart begins to open. We become freer to trust. Freer to surrender. Freer to love. Freer to give. Freer to spend the life God has entrusted to us on something larger than ourselves.

Three streams

Three Expressions of a Wholehearted Life

There are countless ways a life surrendered to God may take shape. Here at Behold & Be Held, three streams help us explore that life more deeply.

Trust Him

Learning to rest the weight of your life on the character of God

Trust is not pretending that life does not hurt. It is not the absence of questions, grief, disappointment, or fear. It is the growing conviction that beneath everything we cannot see, explain, predict, or control stands a God whose character does not change. Trustworthy explores what happens when knowing who God is begins to close the distance between what we believe about Him and how we actually live. When the ground shakes, we learn where our weight can rest.

Live Open-Handed

Let what God has placed in your hands become love in motion

Generosity is far larger than money. It is a way of seeing. A way of holding what we possess. A willingness to recognize that our time, attention, influence, abilities, resources, opportunities, and treasure have all been entrusted to us by God. Seismic Generosity explores the joyful art of living for something bigger — awakening us to the needs around us and inviting us to discover the freedom of an open-handed life. Mercy is the taproot. Generosity is the fruit.

Put Love Into Action

Let compassion travel all the way to another human life

Somewhere in the world, what feels small in one pair of hands can become enormous in another. A classroom. A livelihood. A savings group. Vocational training. Discipleship. A pathway out of poverty. Heart In Heaven exists to turn generosity outward — creating pathways out of poverty in Liberia through discipleship and access to sustainable transformation, while also extending support to trusted global partners serving vulnerable communities around the world. Because love that sees eventually asks: What is mine to do?

One small yes

This Is Not a Formula

Living wholly will not look identical in every life. God may call one person to give. Another to stay. Another to go. Another to forgive. Another to create. Another to serve quietly where almost no one sees. Another to loosen a grip that has been clenched for years.

The goal is not sameness. The goal is surrender. Not performing for God, but responding to Him. Not manufacturing a dramatic life, but faithfully offering Him the one we have actually been given.

And often, wholehearted living begins with one small yes.

The next faithful step

What Is in Your Hand?

Perhaps the next step is not enormous. Perhaps it is a conversation. A prayer. A gift. An act of obedience. A person you finally notice. A resource you begin to steward differently. A dream you release. A need you can meet. A place where God is asking you to trust Him rather than control the outcome.

You do not need to know the entire road before taking the next faithful step. Bring Him what is in your hand. And let Him teach you what a whole life can become when it belongs wholly to Him.

Behold Him. Be Held by Him. Live Wholly for Him.

See Him more clearly. Rest in Him more deeply. And from that place, live with your hands open, your heart awake, and your life increasingly available to God.
