Resources

Words for the journey.

Books, reflections, devotionals, and other resources created to help you behold God more clearly, rest in Him more deeply, and live with eternity in view.

The Gift of Hindsight in Building a Truly Significant Life

An invitation to live from the end backward — letting eternity redefine what matters, what lasts, and what makes a life truly significant.

Most of us move through life looking forward.

We make plans. We pursue what seems important. We fill our days with responsibilities, relationships, opportunities, ambitions, and ordinary concerns — often without stopping to ask what those things will look like from the other side of our lives.

But what if we could borrow the wisdom of hindsight before we reached the end?

What if eternity could teach us now what we might otherwise discover only later?

Living Backward invites us to turn around the usual way of seeing life — to look from the end toward the present and allow what lasts forever to reshape what receives our attention today.

It is an invitation to reconsider significance itself.

  • Not significance measured by visibility.

  • Not by achievement.

  • Not by accumulation, recognition, or applause.

  • But significance measured in the light of eternity.

Because a significant life is not necessarily a visible one.

It is a life shaped by eternity and spent on what truly lasts.

Trustworthy

Knowing the God upon whom the heart can rest.

How God Closes the Gap Between What We Believe and How We Live

We may sincerely believe that God is trustworthy and still find our hearts bracing against uncertainty, reaching for control, or struggling to rest when life does not make sense.

Trustworthy enters that very gap — the distance between what we know about God and what our hearts instinctively do under pressure. Through a deep exploration of the holy, sovereign, wise, good, and faithful God revealed in Scripture, it traces how knowing His character begins to reshape the inner reflexes of fear, self-protection, and self-reliant striving.

This is not a call to manufacture stronger feelings of faith. It is an invitation to behold God until the truth of who He is becomes increasingly weighty in the heart — through Scripture, remembrance, suffering, obedience, communion with Him, and the quiet work of the Spirit.

The circumstances may not become easier. The questions may not all be answered. But something within us can change:

The heart can learn where its weight can rest.

Biblical generosity begins long before the hand opens. It begins as we behold the mercy of God.

These resources invite that mercy deeper into the life of the disciple—reshaping what we treasure, how we steward what God has entrusted to us, and how freely we respond when love places a need within reach.

Begin with the Overflowing Fire Declaration. Discover your Giving Style. Practice the Three Rs. Linger with A Benediction for the Giver. Or step behind the flame and read the story that helped give Seismic Generosity its language.
